Fiddler's Green is one of Alberta's busiest Celtic bands. Some of Calgary's finest players and singers have come together to create a magical, spontaneous sound that has thrilled audiences from Folk Clubs to pubs, from Casino's to Concert Series', and almost everywhere in between. Fiddler's Green has a sound inspired by Irish folk music, but not exclusively drawn from it. Ruth's vocals demonstrate her love of traditional Irish music, but with a country/western edge. Bryan's energetic guitar playing gives the band a strong texture, almost influenced by rock music. Sean, Ben, Darcy and Jarred are energetic and virtuosic fiddle and mandolin players, drawing from all sorts of influences, including Irish, Cape Breton, Bluegrass, Blues and Rock. Much of FG's energy comes from the ability to improvise and communicate within the band. All things told, it is an energetic sound with a whirlwind of influences.
